At the advice and guidance of our pediatrician and some very experienced mom’s we decided to start with the rice cereal this evening. So we unpacked Josh’s new plastic bowls and rubber tip spoons, sanitized and after a walk with Daddy Josh dined on 1 tablespoon of rice cereal mixed with formula. He did EXCELLENT and we had so much fun! We wanted to share the before, during and after pics of this experience. Another milestone! Enjoy the pics…

This was Josh in his Hawaii outfit the other day. So adorable. Grandpa would be proud! Little surf boards and palm trees! Just wanted to share it because he was so cute!

Today was a bit of a poop day for me. I submitted a proposal for a freelance job that would have been a really cool project, and I didn’t get it. Whatever, you win some you lose some. Point is I was a bit bummed out when I got home from work tonight.

That is, until I saw Josh (and Jess). But what was so cool, what really blew me away, was 2 things:

1. Josh was sucking on his own thumb, on purpose. He would chew on it for a few seconds, giggle, take it out, blow bubbles, and do it all again - in any random order.
2. Josh pooped. Badly. I went to change him and while holding his legs up near his head (folded him right in half to whipe certain places that need good whiping), I went to let go of the feet and they didn’t spring back into place… I realized that he was holding them! One ineach hand! (he started the one item in each hand yesterday with a rattle and a binky). So naturally I yelled for Jess to come see and startled him. But within a few seconds he was doing it again. It was so funny - we took pictures but they are a bit provocative.

So, I’m feeling better and realize that my family is the most amazing thing and really nothing else matters.

Josh had his 3 month check up today. Thats right, tomorrow our baby will be 3 months old. I can not believe it! He is growing so quickly and all I am trying to do on a daily basis is soak it all in! Here are the latest stats on Josh:

Weight - 13 pounds 6 ounces
Height - 24 inches - 2 feet
Head - Big (I dont remember, but its growing)

He is in high percentiles in all areas and thriving. He got two new shots today that prevent ear infections and meningitis and stuff like that, he cried, I was in pain and I think I saw Steve’s eyes fill with tears. There really is nothing fun about it.

Tomorrow, Josh will start on rice cereal in his formula! The doctor said it would be a good idea to start so I bought bulk today at BJ’s. I just cant help myself!

We received our Petition for Adoption today from the attorney’s office. We had to get some items notarized and immediately went to the bank to do that. It will be going in the mail to them tomorrow. The next piece of mail we will receive is our court hearing date, which will be our official GOTCHA DAY!

The process continues to go just as God has planned for us. It is amazing and it has been a lot of fun sharing it with all of you!
